WHAT TRIM LEVELS IS THE VOLKSWAGEN GOLF AVAILABLE IN?

The current Volkswagen Golf lineup is offered in a choice of 11 trim levels. These consist of: Life, Match, Style, R-Line, Black Edition, GTE, GTI, GTI Clubsport, GTI Edition 50, R, and R Black Edition.

The Golf Life trim is the entry-level model, but don't be fooled - it offers a decent amount of technology as standard, including a 12.9" infotainment display, adaptive cruise control, and the multi-colour Digital Cockpit Pro driver display.

Moving onto the Match trim, you'll receive some useful extras including the Parking and Comfort Pack, rear tinted windows, and a leather-trimmed gearshift.

The Style trim adds three-zone climate control, Side Assist with rear traffic alert, and 30-colour ambient lighting to personalise the cabin.

If you're looking for a sporty hatchback, the R-Line is worth your consideration. It adds premium sports seats in the front, dynamic steering, and body-coloured R-Line bumpers.

The Black Edition trim adds a purposeful, blacked-out finish, courtesy of the Black Styling Pack with Matrix LED headlights and 18" Leeds alloy wheels.

The GTE trim introduces plug-in hybrid power, pairing a 1.5-litre engine with an electric motor. It also adds distinctive GTE badging and styling.

The GTI trim pairs performance with unique high-spec features, including a front differential lock for sharper handling and the honeycomb-detailed styling.

The GTI Clubsport trim turns things up further, with 300bhp on tap, a more aggressive Clubsport bodykit, and red brake callipers finished with the GTI logo.

The GTI Edition 50 trim is a limited-run tribute to the GTI's 50th anniversary, boasting 325bhp, a 168mph top speed, and unique touches like red seatbelts, red pedals, and Edition 50 decals across the roof spoiler.

The R trim sits near the sharp end of the range, with a potent 333bhp engine, 4Motion all-wheel drive, LED matrix headlights, and blue brake callipers marking out the R badge.

Finally, the range-topping R Black Edition combines all the R's performance with a stealthier finish - darkened badging, black brake callipers, and an electronically raised top speed of 168mph, plus access to the Drift and Special driving modes.
