What warranty comes with a Volkswagen Approved Used car?

All Volkswagen Approved Used cars come with a minimum 1 year unlimited mileage Volkswagen Warranty, subject to eligibility and terms and conditions. Full coverage details are available in the Approved Used Warranty Handbook.

Do Volkswagen Approved Used cars include roadside assistance?

Yes. Every Approved Used Volkswagen includes at least 1 year of Volkswagen Roadside Assistance covering breakdown and recovery services in the UK and Europe, at home or on the roadside, with no limit on call outs.

Can I finance a Volkswagen Approved Used car?

Yes. Flexible finance options are available, including the Solutions Personal Contract Plan (PCP), allowing customers to finance an Approved Used Volkswagen similarly to a new vehicle, subject to terms and conditions.

What checks are carried out on Volkswagen Approved Used cars?

All Approved Used vehicles undergo a comprehensive multipoint inspection with over 100 individual checks completed by qualified technicians. This includes a road test, vehicle history validation, mileage verification and finance checks. A copy of the inspection report is provided at handover.

Are service history checks included?

Yes. A service history certificate confirms the vehicle’s Approved Used retailer network history, verifies the vehicle’s identity and confirms warranty status.

How is vehicle history and mileage verified?

Volkswagen performs independent vehicle history and mileage checks, confirming DVLA registration details, verifying mileage accuracy and ensuring there is no outstanding finance on the vehicle.

Is there an exchange policy for Approved Used Volkswagens?

Yes. Volkswagen offers a 30 day or 1,000 mile no quibble exchange policy. Customers may exchange the vehicle for another of equal or higher value, subject to availability and provided the car is returned in the same condition.

Does an Approved Used Volkswagen include insurance?

Yes. Every Approved Used Volkswagen purchased from a participating retailer includes 5 days' complimentary Volkswagen Drive Away Insurance, allowing customers to drive away immediately with comprehensive cover, subject to eligibility.

Do electric Approved Used Volkswagens receive a battery health check?

Yes. All fully electric Approved Used Volkswagen vehicles receive a battery health check carried out by trained technicians. Customers receive a battery health certificate at handover, and the battery is covered by a manufacturer warranty against degradation to 70% capacity for up to 8 years or 100,000 miles from first registration.

Who is eligible for the Volkswagen Approved Used programme?

The Approved Used benefits apply to vehicles up to 10 years old and with up to 100,000 miles at the point of activation, subject to programme terms and conditions.

Can I reserve an Approved Used Volkswagen online?

Yes. Customers can reserve an Approved Used Volkswagen online by selecting the reserve vehicle option and placing a £99 deposit. A participating retailer will then make contact to arrange the next steps.

Multipoint check

Prior to delivery our fully qualified technicians give all Volkswagen Approved Used cars a comprehensive workshop inspection with over 100 individual checks, followed by a road test as well as a status check to validate vehicle history, mileage and check for outstanding finance.

We’ll even provide a copy of the report when you collect your car. Res assured all service work has been completed if due within 6 months.

Service history checks

This certificate details your car’s entire Approved Used retailer network history, for example routine servicing work. It also verifies the cars identity and status of the warranty.

Independent vehicle history and mileage tests

You can be sure of your car's history. We check the vehicle identity and match it with the DVLA registration. We also verify that there are no outstanding finance arrangements on the car, and that the mileage is correct.

No quibble exchange

30 day/1,000 mile 'no quibble' exchange policy.

If for any reason, you want to change the car - maybe you have second thoughts, or it doesn't fit in your garage you may be able to exchange it for another of the same price (or higher, with you paying the difference), as long as the vehicle is returned in the same condition as when it was collected and the retailer you bought your car from has an available vehicle in their stock.

We want you to start enjoying your new car from day one, which is why every used Volkswagen, purchased from a Volkswagen Retailer, comes with five days’ complimentary insurance. This comprehensive cover guarantees that your vehicle will be repaired in a Volkswagen Approved Repairer using Volkswagen Genuine Parts³. Subject to eligibility. At handover, you will receive a battery health certificate for extra peace of mind.
