Our favourite 5 features of the Volkswagen Arteon

The Volkswagen Arteon has a strikingly styled exterior that gives it an allure to the corporate executive types. There’s no denying it’s a style-conscious vehicle, but it’s not as shallow as you first might think. Underneath its good looking exterior, the Arteon has a lot of high-tech features which take the hard work out of driving.

Below, we go through our 5 favourite features to help you decide which ones are best suited to your needs.

Head-up Display

The head-up display presents essential information directly within your field of vision for convenience when driving. The high resolution display will keep you informed of the speed limit, traffic signs and also assistance systems by projecting them on to the windscreen. It will also show warning and navigation messages clearly in view so you can respond to them as safe and quickly as possible.

Volkswagen Park Assist

Park Assist

This feature will help you to elegantly manoeuvre the car in to your parking space with minimal effort. The car will steer itself in to the parking space while you operate the throttle, clutch and brake. Park assist even works when parallel parking, in fact, this is when park assist works best. When you line up next to space, ultrasonic sensors in the front bumpers are used to scan the space to assess if it is big enough for you to fit. Next you just need to get yourself in to position, select reverse gear and let go of the steering wheel. From there the car will take care of the steering for you. This can be deactivated at any time if you feel you need to take back control of your car.

Dynamic Light Assist

Dynamic light assist provides greater visibility on the road by automatically optimising the illumination of the main beam. It will sense other road users and remove the beam from their channel whilst keeping the beam on your carriageway so you have full visibility at all times.

Lane Assist

This is a common feature today but it is an important one nonetheless as it helps you to prevent accidents caused when road users drift out of their lanes unintentionally. Making long motorway journeys a lot safer, lane assist acts like an AI co-driver that will gently counter-steer your car back in to your lane if you begin to drift out of it.

Volkswagen Arteon Area View

Area View

Area view acts like a guardian angel for your car. It keeps an eye on your surroundings, feeding live images from outside straight in to your cockpit. It provides you with a number of views that you can select depending on your current driving situation. Four cameras discreetly installed around the car provide you with access to your blind-spots that you wouldn’t normally get. You can actually ‘see around corners’ with this feature, so there’s no need to worry about pulling out of blind junctions anymore.
