What seat combination options are available?
The Defender can come with a large array of varying seating combinations depending on what works best for your requirements.
This consists of:
- 2 seats in the front and no rear seats - allows for extra carrying capability
- 3 seats with 2 in the front and 1 in the back allowing for extra rear carrying capability
- 3 seats and a centre console
- 4 seats with a centre console and extra space allowed in the rear passenger area
- Traditional 5 seat layout
- 6 seats with 3 in the rear and 3 in the front
- Traditional 7 seats layout with 2 in the front 3 in the middle, and 2 additional seats in the rear
Can the Defender come with head up Display and Interactive Driver Display screens?
Yes, they can, depending on the model / pack you buy.
Can the Defender come with ClearSight, and what does ClearSight do?
Yes, it can. ClearSight allows you to see directly in front of the car via a video feed to your infotainment screen, without the need to get out of the car. This then allows you to see if there are obstacles immediately in front of you that you can not see, that may damage your car if you were to drive forward.
ClearSight, can also be enabled for the rear. Here if the boot is full of luggage and you can't see out the back window, a live feed of what is on the road behind you can be played directly into your rear view mirror allowing you to easily see "through" the luggage in the rear.
Remote App control
For the Defender you can download a dedicated App for both IOS and Android. This will show you information about your car in real time.

What advanced driving assistance features can the Defender come with?
The Defender can come packed full of technology. Some of these include:
Blind Spot Assist
With Blind Spot Assist the car can help to prevent collisions from occurring by alerting you to a car in your blind spot as you are going to change lane or are experiencing lane drift.
If need be the Defender can then automatically apply correction steering to help to prevent the accident from occurring.
Clear Exit Monitor
With Clear Exit Monitor the Defender will keep a "lookout" for other vehicles when the passenger doors are being opened. If it detects another vehicle is coming it will give you a notification to stop the door from being opened any further.
Rear Traffic Monitor
With Rear Traffic Monitor the Defender will warn you when vehicles, pedestrians or other hazards are approaching from either side.
This is to help to prevent a collision when you are reversing and your rear view of the road behind you is obscured by a hedge or another obstacle or you are trying to get out of a car parking space.
Adaptive Cruise Control
When it comes to the Adaptive Cruise Control your Defender will automatically maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front and adapt your speed based on their actions - for instance should they slow or stop due to traffic. If the vehicle in front stops, you will come to a smooth halt. If the vehicle in front speeds up, you will go back to your desired speed when the road in front is clear to do so.
Rear Pre collision Monitor
With the Rear Pre collision Monitor system if another car is approaching from behind you and is not slowing down, the Defender will automatically attempt to alert the approaching driver to apply their brakes by automatically flashing the hazard lights for you.
With the aim of preventing you from being rear ended by the other driver.
Emergency Braking
With the Emergency Braking system if the Defender detects a possible collision is about to occur, it will display a warning to take evasive action, and then it will apply the brakes for you if no action is taken in time.
Lane Keep Assist
With Lane Keep Assist the Defender will watch out for possible Lane Drift occurring. When it detects your vehicle is unintentionally drifting out of lane, it will automatically apply a corrective torque to the steering wheel to encourage you to guide your vehicle back.
Wade Sensing
With the Wade Sensing system the Defender uses ultrasonic sensors in the door mirrors to provide real-time pictorial information about the water depth when wading.
You will then get a notification that the water depth is greater than 900 mm to help you from flooding the engine.
Traffic Sign Recognition
With the Traffic Sign Recognition system the Defender can keep you informed in real time of the current speed limits as well as any no overtaking signs that are displayed that you may have missed.
What fuel types are available with a Defender?
The Defender is available as Hybrid, and comes using both Petrol and Diesel fuel types, as well as the electric battery from the hybrid engines.
Does the Defender come with hard wearing rubber flooring?
Yes, the Defender can come with built to perfectly fit waterproof rubber flooring to make sure the elements don't ruin your interior.
Does the Defender come with Electronic Active Differential?
Yes it can. Allowing you to have the greatest level of traction available.
is the Defender and All Wheel Drive AWD vehicle?
It is. With the Defender you get both the ability to drive off and on road with its AWD functionality.
Does the Defender come with a twin Speed Transfer Box?
It does, and this is one of the things that allows some of its more extreme abilities, because having an additional set of lower gears can prove invaluable when it comes to steep declines or inclines, not just towing.
