How to Use Park Assist Mercedes C Class

The Mercedes C Class is a combination of eye-catching looks, raw power, and state-of-the-art technology. There are too many aspects of this car to talk about, but one of the best features is Park Assist.

If you’ve recently bought a new Mercedes C Class, then you’re probably aware of this feature, but you might not have tried it out yet. So, allow us to explain exactly how to use it and how it will change your driving experience forever!

How do you use parking assist?

The good news is that this feature is automatically turned on when you drive your Mercedes C Class model. It only kicks into action when you’re driving forwards at a speed up to 20 mph. The car guesses that you’re looking for a parking spot and starts scanning the area around you. You’ll know it’s turned on because a blue P symbol appears on the trip computer.

Now, when you pass a legitimate parking spot that’s large enough for your car, an arrow will appear on your dashboard to show where the available spot is. If you don’t like the look of that spot you can carry on driving, but if you do, then stop and put your car in reverse.

This is where the fun begins! After your car is in reverse, press the OK button on your screen. Now, you can take your hands off the wheel, and the car will steer itself into the spot for you. All you have to worry about is accelerating or braking as the car steers for you. There will be audible and visual aids to help you see if you’re close to the cars around you, these are the same as when you try and park your car yourself; the faster and louder it beeps, the closer you are to hitting something.

That’s all there is to it; once the car is finished parking, you’ll be neatly in your spot!

What are the benefits of parking assist?

Aside from being a pretty cool bit of tech, parking assist is actually very beneficial for you. It lets you find parking spots with ease, so you never have to pull up alongside one and debate whether or not you can fit in there. It will only suggest spots that it calculates are large enough for your car to get into. So, you never have to go through the awkwardness of attempting to parallel park then giving up after five attempts because you can’t actually fit.

What’s more, it makes it easier for you to park under pressure as you can let the car do the steering. You still have to remain in control to accelerate or brake, but the most technical part of parking is done for you. This can save time and stop you from stressing out! Plus, it can also prevent bumps and scrapes by alerting you when you’re close to hitting a car.

If you’ve never used this feature in your Mercedes C Class before, then we suggest you give it a go. It’s incredibly fun, and you’ll be amazed at the genius of your car as it parks itself for you.
