New Range Rover Velar Limited-Edition R-Dynamic Black

The R-Dynamic Black model has been limited to just 500 cars and is all set to arrive in the UK market. It includes a new stealthy black body kit and equipment upgrades, and it’s available to order right now with Sinclair. 

What’s different with the new Range Rover Velar?

The new R-Dynamic Black is a limited-run vehicle that is based on the R-Dynamic SE. This means it features the sporty R-Dynamic body kit and new equipment. It’ll include 20-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights, heated half-leather front seating, parking assistance, an upgraded Meridian sound system and a new digital instrument cluster.

The R-Dynamic Black also offers a plethora of small changes that make the Range Rover Velar feel like a more premium vehicle. This includes a fixed panoramic glass roof, privacy glass, heated steering wheel and the Land Rover Adaptive Dynamics Pack. This allows the R-Dynamic Black to scan the road surface ahead in order to optimise suspension settings with its adaptive dampers and upgraded software.

The R-Dynamic black will offer large 21-inch wheels with a glossy black finish, and the styling pack will also include air vent surrounds, bonnet vents, grille, side strakes and the iconic Land Rover lettering. The vehicle also comes in two metallic paint colours; Eiger Grey and Santorini Black.

R-Dynamic Black engine options

The D180 diesel engine is the only option available for the R-Dynamic Black. Though this is considered an entry-level engine, it’s still a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with 178bhp. It will come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive as standard. It achieves 0 to 62mph in roughly 8.9 seconds with the top speed maxing out around 120mph. In terms of efficiency, it will offer up to 42mpg.

While the R-Dynamic Black won’t be available with the more powerful 237bhp D240 engine, it’s still a formidable vehicle with slightly higher fuel-efficiency thanks to the lower-power engine. However, the extra equipment that you gain with the R-Dynamic black could be more than worth the increase in power.

With prices starting at £56,995, the R-Dynamic Black is slightly more expensive than the R-Dynamic SE, but it more than makes up for the extra cost with all of the extras it comes with. This makes it a surprisingly good-value purchase if you’re looking for a unique Land Rover. It’s also an exclusive car with just 500 being produced and bound for the UK market. This helps with its uniqueness while also helping it maintain its value, combating the typical depreciation of vehicles in the same class.
