Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)

The Cost

The cost is usually made up of two parts, the weekly payment and the Advance Payment. However, unlike a regular car finance agreement, your credit status does not affect your application for the Motability Scheme.

The weekly payment

Step 5 - Wait for Your New Car

You'll then get a letter from Motability confirming your order, and once your car is built and delivered to the dealership, we'll contact you to arrange a collection date.

Step 6 - Collection Day

On the day, you'll need to bring some documents with you, including your driving licence (if you're driving), your certificate of entitlement from the Department for Work and Pensions, and proof of address.

Our team will then go through the car's features with you. On collection day, you'll go through the new vehicle's features and sign your lease contract, and include your Personal Identification Number (PIN), which Motability will have sent you, its as simple as that.

Named drivers

The named drivers must be responsible individuals who are insured and abide by the rules of the scheme.

There are also some restrictions on young drivers (under 25), who can only drive cars in a lower insurance group and with a lower power output.

Mileage

The standard annual mileage allowance is 20,000 miles, with a total of 60,000 miles over the three-year lease, and specific leases may allow for higher limits of up to 100,000 miles for a longer contract as well.

So, if you go over this, you'll have to pay a small charge for each extra mile.

Returning the car

At the end of the three years, you simply hand the car back to the dealer, and you're then free to lease another new one if you so desire.

Can I part-exchange my old car?

This depends, but you typical can trade in your old car. If you have a car that you own privately, your local Audi dealer can offer you a part-exchange value for it.

Can a young driver be a named driver?
