WHAT TRIM LEVELS IS THE CUPRA ATECA AVAILABLE IN?

The CUPRA Ateca was offered in a selection of trim levels. These options include V1, V2, VZ1, VZ2, VZ3, and VZN.

The CUPRA Ateca V1 sits at the entry point of the range, though "entry-level" doesn't mean sparse - it comes generously equipped with a 9.2-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless phone charging, and a digital cockpit display.

V2 builds on that foundation with a handful of practical upgrades: an electric tailgate, a rear-view camera, and heated front seats.

VZ1 is where the higher-performance engine options come into play. It brings a sportier edge to match, including a black roof lining, CUPRA sport/adaptive suspension tuning, and a 360-degree top-view camera.

VZ2 steps things up on the luxury, safety tech, and finish front. It's fitted with genuine leather bucket seats, heated front sports seats and a suite of driver-assistance features including lane keep assist and side assist.

VZ3 layers on extra visual flair and track-inspired upgrades over the VZ2. It gains upgraded high-performance front brakes and calipers, a premium sound system, and distinctive 19-inch black-and-copper alloy wheels.

Finally, the range-topping VZN was a limited special edition. It steps up to larger 20-inch black-and-copper alloy wheels paired with copper-coloured Brembo calipers and a premium Beats Audio system.

HOW FAST IS THE CUPRA ATECA?

The 300PS performance flagship delivers genuinely quick pace for an SUV, sprinting from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in around 4.9 seconds and topping out at approximately 153-155 mph (247-250 km/h).

By comparison, the 1.5-litre TSI covers 0-60 mph in 9.3 seconds, while the 190PS variant manages it in 7.2 seconds.

WHICH CUPRA ATECA ENGINE IS THE BEST?

It really comes down to what you need from the car.

The entry-level 1.5-litre engine suits daily commuting best and keeps running costs to a minimum, with the strongest fuel economy and lowest insurance group of the three. It can feel a little underpowered, though, once the car is loaded with passengers or towing.

The 2.0-litre 190PS strikes a good middle ground, pairing the extra power with the stability of all-wheel drive - a difference you'll notice when carrying heavier loads.

Then there's the 2.0-litre 300PS, built for those who want the thrill. It's the most dynamic engine in the range and noticeably quicker off the mark than the 190PS.

IS THE CUPRA ATECA AUTOMATIC OR MANUAL?

The CUPRA Ateca comes exclusively with a 7-speed DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) automatic transmission, delivering smooth, seamless gear changes for a dynamic driving experience.

IS THE CUPRA ATECA GOOD ON FUEL?

Fuel economy isn't the CUPRA Ateca's strong suit.

The 1.5-litre 150PS is the most efficient engine in the range, achieving a combined WLTP figure of up to 44.2mpg. The 2.0 TSI 190PS offers up to 35.3mpg, while the 300PS version returns up to 31mpg.
