Eligibility to join the Motability Scheme and enjoy the greater freedom that it brings is simple - you need to receive one of the higher rate mobility allowances and have at least 12 months’ award length remaining.

Sinclair Motability

Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HMRC DLA) 

The Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is provided by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to assist with the extra costs faced by people with disabilities. The Higher Rate Mobility Component – currently £61.20 per week* - can be used to lease a vehicle through Motability

War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS) 

Provided by Veterans UK, the allowance of £68.35 per week*can be used to cover a Motability lease agreement on a new car.

Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP) 

As part of the Government’s welfare reform programme, the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is being replaced by Personal Independence Payment (PIP) which is a non-means tested benefit for people aged 16 to 64 suffering from a long-term health condition or disability. Those receiving the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of PIP can use this allowance of £61.20 per week* on a Motability lease.

Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP) 

Those in receipt of AFIP can use the mobility element of £61.20 per week* to join the Motability Scheme.
